My deepest condolences go to Jeanette's dear friend Bob and the rest of Jeanette's friends and family. There was no one ever like Jeanette! Every time I see a bald eagle or Redtail hawk I think of Jeanette. I know Jeanette will continue to soar above us forever with her strength, creativity, generosity, love, and sense of humor.

I feel this guestbook is a very nice way to share with Jeanette's family how much she is loved. I know the line to speak about her at the service would be very long. Thank you for allowing me to share a little story for her family as her sister in storytelling. Thank you to whomever chose this beautiful photo of her...it speaks of her nature, style, beauty and divine aura, inside and out.

Because I am missing my sweet friend Jeanette "Moonsong" Mallory-Hill. I first met her when she was teaching at Downingtown Middle School and she came to see me do Dunbar in at the school in the 90's. She loved the idea of storytelling and I eagerly encouraged her to go on the journey with me as a member of Keepers Of The Culture and later The National Association of Black Storytellers. When she traveled to India she brought me back an authentic sari. I still can't figure out how to wrap it;-) She visited and brought me a gift to show she cared about me, when I needed "sisterly love" after back surgery. She was Cherokee and African and embraced life as a world citizen. When she retired and was ready to embrace life as a "storyteller" I passed on to her, her first storytelling gig. It was to tell for an organization who has an elephant sanctuary for retired circus elephants. She was so excited and we researched the project together. In learning elephants mate for life and they truly never forget a love one, she told the story and the organization had her back many time to retell. So like the elephants, let those who's lives she has touched by her storytelling, the many children who's hearts she touched and her "Paparazzi By Appointment" subjects and friends....may we all never forget our beloved "Moonsong." I know I never will.

Deepest Sympathies, Cousin Richard Stanton and family

Message from Richard A. Stanton, Jr and Family

Dear Family,
I am unable to attend the funeral of my dear cousin. Please be sure that my prayers and heartfelt sorrow is with you all and in my heart. Cousin Ellie was a beacon of light to all she met. Even though that light has gone out the flashbacks of her love for family and children are evident. She was a great Aunt and Sister, loved her nieces and nephews; opened the minds of the children she taught; and brought stories to children in different communities. I believe in the resurrection hope and know that Ellie is in Jehovah's memory. One day we all will experience what stated at Rev. 21: 3,4. I will see her again.
Deepest Condolences,
Cousin Richard and family

I am sorry for your loss but grateful she served the Creator of All who sits high and looks low. She will be remembered well for she lived a good life in this realm. But we know she is so much better now. I know her from her affiliation with the National Association of Black Storytellers. God has blessed her. May He continue to bless the family especially during this time of grief.
