Gilbert Thomas Bacon

Gilbert Thomas Bacon 63 was born September 25, 1952 in Coatesville, Pennsylvania. He was the sixth out of nine children born to the late Edward Bacon, Sr. and Geraldine Hutcherson Bacon.  

Gilbert received his education in the Coatesville Area School District. He was a skilled auto mechanic. You could find Gilbert underneath the hood of a car anytime, day or night and in any weather.

Gilbert was known to be a kind hearted person. He would always give his sisters kisses. He loved fishing with his sister Sondra, reading and horseback riding. He also loved Nascar racing, working on cars, all sports and family gatherings. Gilbert loved traveling to Atlanta to visit his daughter, Iesha and his grandchildren. 

Gilbert departed this life suddenly January 25, 2016 at age 63 .  He was preceded in death by one sister, Barbara Perry and one brother, Edward Bacon.

He leaves one daughter, Iesha Bacon (Mohammed Woods) of Atlanta, Georgia; four sisters, Syvella Dubose of Bridgeton, New Jersey, Linda Wilson of Coatesville, Sondra Brown of Downingtown, Patricia Maybin (Rodney) of Baltimore, Maryland; two brothers Anthony Bacon of Coatesville, Gerald Bacon of York, PA; 10 grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Services will be held at 11 AM, Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at the First Baptist Church of Bernardtown, 1208 Youngsburg Rd, Coatesville.

Interment will be private.
