Nomble & Family,

May prayers and the love of your family and friends comfort you during this most difficult time. It's hard to put into words how heavy it can feel to lose someone so close and so young. During this time, hold onto those memories you shared, reflect on them and cherish them. Those memories will help you through.

Warm regards,
Stacie

Dear Linda, Nomble, Idris, and Adanne:
I met Ernie last year at work. We shared a desk and I was privileged to have known him for that short time before he left for a different department. He was always so cheerful. We always looked forward to the start of his shift when he would come in (at 6 in the morning) and just wish everyone a good morning. Not once in the entire year that I knew him was he ever not cheerful. On Mother's day last year, he organized the contractors for the department and everyone signed cards and chipped in to get a small gift for those of us who are mothers. It was so touching.

He also always wanted to help everyone. As part of my job, I have to open mail that is placed in tubs that I have to get from a table. I actually sprained my ankle and had to be placed in a boot last year. Ernie took it upon himself to get me my tubs so that I would not have to get up. I can't begin to describe how touched I was. I will really miss him and only regret I knew him for such a short time. My condolences go out to all of you. Heaven has another angel.

To Linda Coleman and the Family:
I was sad when heard about Ernie's passing. Ernie and I grew up together in the Ebeneezer Baptist Church and as children our Mother's always made sure that we were active in our Sunday school and other church activities. This was our roots, this was the foundation of what has become of our lives today. Ernie's life leaves a legacy that I am sure you are glad to be part of. And, with your family as we lift him up and celebrate his life's journey I pray that God will give you comfort and peace during this time in life. Linda, this is a fragile time, a time to be gentle with yourself and to give your heart permission to grieve, to feel, and to remember. It's gonna be alright because God's got you. God's got Ernie and in the morning when the sun shine soak in the beams of light and one day we will all be together again in Jesus name. Blessing to you and the family.

Our deepest sympathies go out to Linda and Ernie's family. We had the pleasure of meeting Ernie and Linda when Ernie was my dad's roommate at Sloan Kettering a couple of weeks ago. We only spent a couple of days with Ernie and Linda (who like me - slept in the hospital room in an uncomfortable chair so that she could be there all night in case Ernie needed something). I'm sorry for all you have had to go through these past 6 months and even more sorry that Ernie was taken too soon. I wished Ernie well when we left on May 4th. I was fortunate to even know him for the few days we were there together. He seemed like a great man.

As you celebrate the life of your husband and father , may you find comfort in knowing that he was loved by all that knew him. He was such an inspiration who loved to make a difference in the lives of others through prayer, time, giving, working with them, sharing his knowledge , volunteering, chaperoning, planning, leading , and guiding,
Although he will be greatly missed , you have great memories of your time together. Families Together will miss all the things he did and the joy he brought to the group.
I pray that each of you will allow God to order your steps and keep you focused as you strive to reach your goals. Share you love with each other as you share God's love. Praying for you.

Dear Linda and the Coleman family,
Deacon Ernie was a kind, thoughtful, and Godly man, who blessed us with his love and joy through everything he did. He clearly modeled spiritual leadership through his dedication and humility. I will continue to cherish the memories of him leading Praise & Worship with his hymnal in hand and such incredible zeal for singing the Lord’s songs. When someone so special touches our lives, not only are we left with an imprint in our hearts, but an example of how to live this life with purpose. We know we will see him again – we just do not know when. I pray for your continued strength and endurance through this difficult life transition.
Love you all,

Sometimes you may not get the privilege of meeting someone, but you know of that person through his impact on others. This is one of those times for me. I did not get the chance to meet Mr. Coleman, but I learned how amazing of a father he was through his children Nomble and Idris. Their character is a reflection of their father, and so I know, that a great father, husband and man of God will be missed. But to be absent in the body is to be present with the Lord. The Coleman family is in my prayers and thoughts during your time of bereavement.
