F. Ernest Coleman

Floyd Ernest Coleman, 59, of Downingtown PA, passed away on May 11, 2016 at the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center in New York City.

Affectionately known as Ernie, he was born in Wilmington, Delaware, the son of the late Floyd and Lessie Odom Coleman. Ernie was the husband of Linda Freeman Coleman, with whom he shared 32 years of marriage.

Ernie was employed at Ford Aerospace, as well as Lockheed Martin Corporation for many years. He found joy in cooking, singing and various sports. Ernie was a Deacon and active member at New Life in Christ Fellowship in Coatesville, PA. He always gave his full effort in all that he did.  People knew Ernie to be a great man, a loving husband and father.

Ernie leaves his wife, Linda, of Downingtown; two daughters, Nomble Mari Coleman, of Brighton, Mass and Adanne Linda Coleman, of Downingtown; one son, Idris Odom Coleman, of Downingtown; one sister, Martha Crocker, of Dover, Delaware; one niece, Victoria Matthews, of Dover, DE; one aunt, Myra Freeman, of Philadelphia, PA; and a host of cousins, in-laws, other relatives and friends.

Services will be held at 5 PM on Sunday, May 22, 2016 at New Life in Christ Fellowship, One South Fifth Avenue, Coatesville, PA. Friends are invited to a viewing beginning at 3 PM.

Interment will be in the Ivy Hill Cemetery in Philadelphia, PA. In lieu of flowers, contributions, in Ernie’s memory, can be made to his daughter Adanne’s college fund.
