Stephanie Anderson Obituary

Daily Local News Article

Stephanie Marie Anderson, 31, transitioned on Friday April 23, 2021. Born in Alabama on July 28,1989, she was the daughter of Stacy J. London Anderson of Coatesville, PA (residing in Miami, FL), and Dana A. Anderson of Coatesville, PA (residing in Elizabeth-town, KY).

She was a graduate of Coatesville Area Senior High School and Vocational Technical School where she specialized in Cosmetology and even won a national competition. After high school, she attended Empire Beauty School where she received her Cosmetology license in PA and was recently licensed in Florida this year. She went on to the first HBCU Lincoln University of Pennsylvania to obtain a degree in Business in 2011 as an honors graduate. Ultimately she completed a Master’s Degree in Sports Management from Barry University in 2014.

While at Lincoln University, Stephanie excelled on the women’s soccer team and broke several records which included one as the highest scorer in the history of the team. This caught the attention of Sports Illustrated Magazine who did an article highlighting her achievements.

Stephanie was close to her late grandfather Charles (Chunky).

Anderson who she called “Poppy” and he affectionately called her Scooter because of her great ability to score soccer goals. As a little girl she was energetic, playful, and ornery. Even when she and her sister Danesha would be mad at each other growing up, they were quick to team up on someone if they messed with either of them and at the end of the day would still wrap their arms around each other in love while watching TV.

Stephanie was recently employed at Florida Memorial University as a Team Operations Manager which she absolutely loved.

She will be remembered as a beautiful, loving, intelligent, joyful, loyal, funny, and gifted young woman with an infectious smile and big personality. She was a hard working go-getter that was also wild, independent, free-spirited, and so much more. Stephanie always told it like it was and didn’t take any non-sense.  She had a wonderful sense of humor, constantly told jokes, and knew how to have a good time. Everyone around her was sure to laugh at some point or another. She definitely lived life to the fullest and liked trying new things like sky diving which tapped into her adventurous side. At the end of the day, Stephanie wanted everyone around her, especially those she loved, to enjoy themselves and to be happy.

In addition to her parents, she is survived by her older sister Dr. Danesha Lorraine Anderson (aka Dr. Ayofemí Joy) (San Diego/Mexico), her Yorkie - Vellie who was the love of her life, her maternal grandmother Elizabeth Lorraine Gray Perkins, her Grandmamah Rene, paternal grandmother Deborah Anderson, and a host of Aunts, Uncles, cousins, and many great friends. Stephanie was extremely close to her friends and considered them to be her family.

She is preceded by her great grandparents Elizabeth and Harold Gray, great-grandmother Goldie Trowery Suber, grandfather John Alfred London (aka “Tarzan”), in addition to her great grandmother Doris Gaines, grandfather Charles “Poppy” Anderson, and other family members.

Rest in Peace, Power, & Purpose
