Sara V. Lockman

Sara V. Lockman, age 92, paid her faithful dues and earned her heavenly wings on Wednesday, May 25, 2022 at Hillcrest Center in Wyncote, PA.

Sara, known fondly as “Aunt Peggy”, was born in West Chester, PA on June 7, 1930.  Sara grew up in Kennett Square, PA, and graduated from Kennett High School in 1948.  After graduation, Sara pursued her education in business and also a career in Nursing. After receiving her nursing degree, Sara relocated to Glenside, PA, and worked at Abington Hospital, Abington PA for over 20 years.  There she received commendations and outstanding awards during her nursing career. 

Sara was also a pioneer entrepreneur and was the owner of an independent employment agency where she worked at helping others gain employment in Pennsylvania. 

Sara was a faithful, loved and active member of the Antioch Baptist Church, North Hills, PA where she enjoyed participating in church functions and meetings.  She served as the church nurse and always was there to help others. 

Sara was well known for her art of cooking and her home was always open for a home cooked meal with love.  Her hobbies and interests included her family, gardening, sewing and reading and she loved to travel internationally and throughout the United States. She devoted much of her time and energy as a caregiver to family members, including her mother until she passed away at age 70.

Sara was preceded in death by her parents, Henrietta Anderson Walls and Kerry C. Walls and her brother Kerry F. Walls.  She is survived by her sisters, Marjorie Walls Hunter, Kennett Square, PA and Peggy Jones, Lancaster, PA.  Sara leaves behind a host of nieces, nephews and cousins who love her dearly and are so thankful to have her as an angel watching over us. 

Viewing and Service will be held at the Antioch Baptist Church, 200 Logan Avenue, North Hills PA 19038 on June 2nd, 2002.  Viewing will start at 10 AM and Service will follow at 11 AM.

PLEASE NOTE - All attendees are required to wear masks upon entering church and during service.
