Sandra Turner-Barnes was Lawnside, New Jersey's consummate "Cadillac Lady," a celebrated poet a jazz artist. She was sassy yet serious...playful and spontaneous. Yet, her principal joy was her intimate spiritual relationship with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Sandra acknowledged Christ's grace and His gifts as the source of her faith, health, and strength.
Sandra authored four books of poetry; Always a Lady, which included her signature poem "Cadillac Lady" that sweet Philly jazz too much woman and but mostly love.
She was preceded in death by her husband Jazz Legend Bootsie Barnes and her late brother Gerald Farmer.
Sandra leaves memories of love to her daughters Richelle Turner, Renee McDowell; siblings, Deirdra Bullock, Andrea McDonald, Dennis Strickland, and Rev. Gary (Robin) Banks; grandchildren, Reginald Lewis, Richone Lewis, Mia, Journee Jones, Elijah, Jeremiah, Noel, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousin, extended family, church family, poets, and friends.
A 1-hour visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 11:00 at GRACE TEMPLE BAPTIST CHURCH, 15 E Charleston Ave, Lawnside, NJ 08045. The burial service will immediately follow at Merion Memorial Park, 59 W Rock Hill Road, Bala Cynwyd, PA 19004
