On Tuesday, April 16, 2024, Samuel Watson Johnson, Jr., surrounded by his loved ones, passed away at his residence in East Brandywine township in Downingtown, PA. Even in his final moments he was cracking jokes, and giving everyone a hard time. He was 80 years old.
Born in West Chester, PA, he was the son of the late Samuel Watson Johnson, Sr., and Sarah Ethel (Pinkerton) Johnson.
Sam served in the United States Army for five years during the Viet Nam Conflict. After being honorably discharged from the military he became employed as a Pipefitter at the Lukens Steel Company in Coatesville until he retired after 36 years.
Sam loved the outdoors, taking road trips, and spending time at the shooting range. He also enjoyed live music, especially "Flamin' Dick and the Hotrods".
Sam is survived by his three children, Jeneen Marie (Johnson) Schuber, Kristine Denise (Johnson) Kamrud, and Christopher Robert Johnson.
