Ruth Pearl Hunt

Ruth Pearl Pernsley Hunt, 96, of Coatesville, PA, passed away at home, on February 21, 2021. 

Born on October 2, 1924 in West Chester, she was the daughter of the late  Leslie Samuel Pernsley and Beatrice E. Dempsey Pernsley. She was the wife of the late Eugene M. Hunt, Sr. with whom she shared 61 years of marriage.

Ruth was a devoted wife and mother who loved to crochet and travel to Cape May, New Jersey.  She loved to cook and entertain. Her delicious rice pudding, homemade pies, and eggnog were a delight.
 
She is survived by six children: Victoria M. Johnson of Coatesville, PA, Valerie Hunt of Daytona, Florida, Eugene Hunt, Jr. (Christine) of Yeadon, PA, Karen Hunt of Coatesville,  PA,  Cathy Hunt of Coatesville, PA, Richard Hunt (Jadette) of Reading, PA; sister, Beatrice E. Rucker of West Chester; daughter-in-law, Darlene Hunt of Coatesville; sisters-in-law, Violetta Pernsley of Coatesville, PA, Charlotte Pernsley of Coatesville, PA and Joan Pernsley of Sacramento, Calif.; cousin, Lenore Pernsley; 20 grandchildren; 46 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
 
Ruth was preceded in death by one daughter, Sharan Hunt; a  son, Darrell Hunt, Sr.; siblings, Leslie Pernsley, William Pernsley, Donald Pernsley, Leon Pernsley, Clarence Pernsley  Raymond Pernsley, and Lillian Pernsley.

A Walk-Thru public viewing will be held on Saturday, Febuary 27, 2021, beginning at 3:00 PM until 4:00 PM, at Judah Ministries COGIC, 840 E. Chestnut St., Coatesville, PA 19320.  Due to the current Covid-19 Pandemic, a funeral will be held PRIVATELY with seating for the immediate family only.
