Ruth E. Goodwin

Ruth Elizabeth Goodwin, 83, of Hockessin, DE passed away Tuesday, May 18, 2021, at the Regal Heights Nursing Home in New Castle County, Delaware.

Ruth was born in West Chester, PA on November 30, 1937. She was the daughter of the late Mary (Daniels) Goodwin and Raymond Goodwin.

Over the years, she attended Faith City Family Church in Christiana, Delaware.

Ruth enjoyed reading, going to yard sales, and going out to eat at various restaurants. Most of all she loved her family.  

She leaves cherished memories to her three sons: Barry Goodwin of Atlanta GA, Bryant Goodwin of Reading, PA, Raymond Goodwin of San Diego, Calif.; three daughters: Linda Brown of Bowie, South Carolina, Valerie Wilson (Dave) of Coatesville, PA, Allyce Goodwin of Wilmington, DE; four sisters: Linda Washington and Margaret Foster of West Chester, Arlene Goodwin of Exton, and Vanessa Boddy (Gerald) of Coatesville; two brothers, Albert “Jerry” Goodwin of  West Grove, Ronald Goodwin of Oxford; sister-in-law, Yvonne Goodwin of West Grove; 11 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Kent Goodwin; three brothers: Leon Goodwin, Thomas Goodwin, and Larry Goodwin.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, June 4, 2021, at Wright Funeral & Cremation Services, 725 Merchant Street, Coatesville, PA 19320.
