Robert McKinley Craft, 91, known as “Bobby” and “Bob,” formerly of Avondale, PA, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, January 11, 2019 at Twin Pines Health Care Center, West Grove, PA. He was the husband of the late Dorothy R. Johnson Craft, with whom he shared 69 years of marriage.
Born on November 27, 1927, Robert was the son of the late Jacob and Anna Clark Craft. He attended Kennett High School, where he loved participating in track.
Robert was an active and faithful member of the Church of Christ in West Grove, PA (also known as Kelton.)
Prior to his retirement, Robert was employed at Nachman in West Chester, where he became an expert box spring maker.
Robert enjoyed reading and discussing the Bible. He loved painting horses and farm scenes from his childhood memories.
Robert will be deeply missed and leaves to cherish his memory, his sister, Charlotte Griffin of Wilmington, DE, sister-in-law, Madeline E. Milburn of Philadelphia, brother-in-law, Wayne R. Johnson of Nashua, NH, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
He was preceded in death by 2 brothers, Edward (Jacob) and Leonard, who died at birth, and 2 sisters, Sarah Glasco and Mary Stevens.
Family and friends are invited to attend funeral services at 10 am Saturday, January 19, 2019 at Church of Christ of West Grove, 182 S. Jennersville Road, West Grove, PA, with a viewing from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m.
Interment will be in Union Hill Cemetery, Kennett Square, PA.
Flowers can be sent to the church on the day of the service. The theme color is blue.
