Richard David Poles, 82, of Coatesville, PA, passed away Tuesday, June 30, at Pembroke Health & Rehab Center, West Chester, PA.
Originally of Philadelphia, Richard was one of eleven children born to the late Dolly Mae (Burgess) Poles and Samuel McDonald Poles.
He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War until being honorably discharged after 6 years of service.
He was the husband of Louise J. (Campbell) Poles.
He worked as a Long Distance Trucker for many years, and being a long distance truck driver, he loved to travel. He traveled up and down the United States and from coast to coast.
Richard was a comedian at heart, and enjoyed fishing, bowling, shooting pool, and going to the casinos.
Richard will leave many memories to his wife, Louise; children Bryant, Lauren, and Deborah; grandchildren Brittany, Simone, Maleek, David, Alexander, Tyler, Zoey, and Sebastian; great grandchildren, Carter and Oakley; brothers Toby, Harold, and Craig; and many other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his loving mother Dolly, and his brothers and sisters, Larry, Joanne, Cora, Barbara, Rosalie, Genevia, and William.
A memorial service is being planned for a later date.
