Priscilla Elizabeth Snead, 77, of Coatesville, PA, passed away Saturday, August 15, 2020, at Penn Medicine Hospice in West Chester, PA.
Priscilla was born in West Chester, in September of 1942, to the late Priscilla E. (Thomas) and Alfred W. Thompson, Sr. She was the wife of Jessie M. Snead with whom she shared 37 years of marriage.
She was a graduate of S. Horace Scott High School of Coatesville. After graduating from high school she attended beauty school where she earned a certificate in cosmetology.
While raising her family, she was employed at the Coatesville V.A. Medical Center for 25 years, where she worked in the E.M.S department. It was there that she met and married her husband Jessie.
She was an involved member of the Red Hatters and she enjoyed spending time with her girlfriends and helping her grand kids. She enjoyed listening to the Oldies, Jazz and Gospel music. She loved watching old cowboys shows, movies and old Perry Mason shows.
Her husband Jessie and son Kenny will remember eating her baked ziti, spaghetti, fried chicken, banana pudding, and her home style grits. Priscilla really had a fondness towards her cars, especially her white convertible Mustang with the black roof and her black Cadillac.
Priscilla leaves precious memories to her husband Jessie; son, Kenneth C. Oxendine and his wife Veronica of Downingtown, PA; stepson, Jamal Snead of Baltimore, MD; 12 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren, many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Marvin Tucker; two brothers, Alfred W. Thompson Jr., Leon Thompson; and a sister, Marine Eubanks.
A walk-through viewing will be held from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM on Friday, August 21, 2020, at Wright Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc., 725 Merchant St., Coatesville, PA 19320.
Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic situation, the funeral service will be held privately with limited seating for the immediate family only to allow for safe physical distancing and adherence to the state-issued indoor gathering guidelines.
Interment will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville, PA, following the service.
