Pastor Tammy Ford Obituary

Pastor Tammy M. Ford, of Jeffersonville, PA, formerly of Devon, PA, went home to be with the Lord, early Sunday morning on December 12, 2021, at the Einstein Medical Center Montgomery in East Norristown, PA.

Pastor Tammy Ford was born and raised in Devon Pennsylvania on November 18, 1961, daughter of Angeline Turner and the late Thomas S. Turner, Sr.  She gave her life to Christ in 1988 and was baptized by the late Dr. James W. Myles, III and remained a devoted member of First Baptist Church in Wayne, PA for 15 years.

She was a graduate of Conestoga High School, where she was a member of the Kick Line and had the opportunity to perform at the Rose Bowl Parade. Pastor Tammy was innovative and could always find a creative way to do what she set herself out to do. For example, she wanted to learn gymnastics and trained herself how to do flips and tricks in her yard and would never let anyone forget that she was a gymnast. Pastor Tammy took her creative and innovative mind and studied fashion merchandising as well as received her Bachelor’s degree in Business from Eastern University. You could always find Pastor Tammy in a fashionable outfit! Pastor Tammy married the love of her life Mario Ford Sr. on June 16, 1984 and was blessed with three children Mario Jr., Kaylin and Marcus.

Pastor Tammy was the founding President and CEO of Careers Express, Inc., which was established in 1994 as a female independently owned and operated staffing and recruiting firm located in the heart of King of Prussia, PA.  Careers Express has been providing temporary office support and professional placement services for large to small organizations throughout the Philadelphia metropolitan and suburban areas for the last 27 years. Through the business Pastor Tammy was able to build long-term relationships to take the business to another level because of her kind and sweet spirit. As the business started to grow, she realized that it wasn’t just her abilities bringing her success but the favor of God that was in her life. She realized that wasn’t enough for her and wanted to find a way to touch more people so God opened another door for her to be able to combine the business into a ministry.

Pastor Tammy and Mario were called into the ministry in 1999, where they both answered the call and co-founded a Christian outreach ministry called Tent Ministries, which hosted annual summer tent revivals known as the “Soul Winning Restoration Harvest Crusade” that initially started in their backyard. Their passion has always been to reach the lost, broken, and hurting by bringing the Gospel of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ to local communities. As part of giving back, Pastor Tammy utilized multiple platforms to impact substance abuse locally. In 2013, she was certified as a Recovery Coach and created The Bridge Connection Referral Program, a free service which helped at-risk young adults integrate back into the workforce by connecting them with employers, mentors, and coaches who embrace “Recovery Friendly Workplaces” with a goal of building better communities through transforming lives!”

Pastors Mario and Tammy were both ordained together on August 16th, 2015 by Power in the Cross Ministries an International and World Missions Outreach Ministry out of Tennessee under the leadership of Dr. and Mrs. James Barnett and a partnership was established.  On March 9th, 2017, they launched Power In The Cross Church & International World Outreach Center in Norristown PA which they both Co-Pastored. The motto for the church as well as Pastor Tammy’s life was “It’s all about love!” Pastor Tammy had a heart to serve and help others, she loved the dining in the park ministry. Where she would make home-cooked meals to bring to the park and make a table spread to sit and fellowship with others and bring a word of encouragement.

Pastor Tammy will be remembered for how she did everything with the spirit of excellence. People would often make jokes about if they had to show up in Black Tie attire for Thanksgiving based on her formal table settings and rolled napkins. When she had a vision, she would execute it to the fullest, she did not believe in taking shortcuts. She will be remembered especially for embodying the scripture Matthew 22: 37-39 “Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.”

She leaves to cherish her memories her husband, Mario Ford, Sr.; children, Mario Ford, Jr., Kaylin Ford, and Marcus Ford; mother, Angeline Turner; siblings, Diane Turner, Carol De La Paz, Thomas Turner, Jr., Deborah Knight, Susan Cropper, Sandra Smith, Timothy Turner, Theodore Turner, and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family members, church family, and friends.

Though Pastor Tammy’s presence will be greatly missed, we rejoice in knowing she is present with the Lord.
