Norma I. Ortiz, también conocida como “Norma Salome Caba.” “Ma” como la llamarían sus hijos y “Wela” como le llamaban sus bellos nietos. Ella tenía 51 años. Nació en Adjuntas, Puerto Rico y vivió en Steelton, Pensilvania. Se fue a casa para estar con el Señor el lunes 13 de junio de 2022 después de una larga batalla contra el cáncer de linfoma durante los últimos 4 años. Norma vivió su vida al máximo, su espíritu genuino y feliz tocó tantas vidas a lo largo de su viaje en esta vida. Era una mujer de fe que amaba cantar y adorar al Señor. Le encantaba pasar tiempo con su familia y siempre se esforzaba por mantener a la familia unida. Le gustaba ir a nadar y pescar. Era una madre amorosa y amaba inmensamente a sus nietos. Era una hermana cariñosa, una hija espectacular, una tía con la que siempre podías contar, una sobrina que siempre se acercaba a ti, si eras primo (a) siempre encontraba la manera de encontrarte. Era amiga de todos y ayudaba a los demás sin importar las circunstancias. Incluso cuando su salud estaba empeorando, ayudó a cuidar a nuestra amada madre hasta su muerte. Ella nunca se quejaba y siempre decía “Todo lo puedo en Cristo que me fortalece” Filipenses 4:13 y siempre decía “¡Me siento como un coco!” Su personalidad, su sonrisa, la forma en que amaba a todos y ayudaba a los demás era única. Ella se aseguró de que todos quedaran con un recuerdo y se convirtió en la "Reina de las selfies". Norma fue precedida en muerte por su hermano Alberto Salome Caba y su madre Carmen Caba Vera.

A Norma le sobreviven sus hijos, Sharon Lizardi y su esposo Carmelo Lizardi-Colón de Coatesville, PA. Alberto Ortiz de Steelton, PA y Steven Rodríguez de Steelton, PA. También deja 2 nietos, Annalise M. Lizardi-Albino y Julian C. Lizardi-Albino. También le sobrevivió su padre Anibal Salome DeJesus de Harrisburg, PA. Cinco hermanas y 7 hermanos, muchos sobrinos, sobrinas, tías, tíos y primos.

El velorio se llevará a cabo de 4:00 p. m. a 5:00 p. m., el miércoles, 22 de junio de 2022 en la Funearia de Wright, 725 Merchant Street Merchant Street, Coatesville, PA 19320.

El velorio se llevará a cabo de 9:00 a. m. a 10:45 a. m., el jueves, 23 de junio de 2022, en la Iglesia Puerta Estrecha, 75 W 5th Ave, Coatesville, PA 19320, seguido de los servicios fúnebres a las 11 a. m.

El entierro se llevará a cabo en el cementerio de Fairview en Coatesville.

Se invita a amigos y familiares a compartir sus condolencias y reflexiones en el libro de visitas en línea.

Norma I. Ortiz, also known as “Norma Salome Caba. “Ma” as her children would call her and “Wela '' called by her grandchildren. She was 51 years old. She was born in Adjuntas, Puerto Rico and lived in Steelton, Pa. She went home to be with the Lord on Monday, June 13th 2022 after a long battle with Lymphoma Cancer for the past 4 years. Norma lived her life to the fullest, her genuine and happy spirit touched so many lives along her journey in this life. She was a woman of Faith who loved to sing and worship the Lord.

She loved spending time with her family, and always strived to keep the family together. She enjoyed going swimming and fishing. She was a loving mother and loved her grandbabies immensely. She was a caring sister, a spectacular daughter, an aunt you could always count on, a niece who always reached out to you, if you were a cousin, she would always find a way to find you. She was a friend to everyone and helped others no matter the circumstances. Even when her health was declining, she helped take care of our beloved mother till her passing. She never complained and always said, “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me. ” Philippians 4:13 and she always said, “I feel like a coconut!” Her personality, her smile, the way she loved everyone and helped others was unique. She made sure everyone was left with a memory, and she became the “Queen of Selfies.”

Norma was preceded in death by her brother, Alberto Salome Caba, and her mother, Carmen Caba Vera.

Norma is survived by her children: Sharon Lizardi and her husband Carmelo Lizardi-Colon of Coatesville, PA, Alberto Ortiz of Steelton, PA and Steven Rodriguez of Steelton, PA. She also leaves behind 2 grandchildren, Annalise M. Lizardi-Albino and Julian C. Lizardi-Albino; her father, Anibal Salome DeJesus of Harrisburg, PA; five sisters and 7 brothers, many nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles and cousins. 

A viewing will be held from 4:00 PM to 5:00 PM, Wednesday, June 22, 2022, at Wright Funeral & Cremation Services, 725 Merchant Street, Coatesville, PA 19320.

A viewing will also be held from 9:00 AM to 10:45 AM, Thursday, June 23, 2022, at Iglesia Puerta Estrecha, 75 West 5th Ave, Coatesville, PA 19320 followed by funeral services at 11 AM.
