Mr. Nicholas Rivera, Sr. of Coatesville, PA, passed away at home surrounded by his wife, children and grandchildren on September 15, 2020. Born in Springfield, Ohio to the late Robert H. Rivera and Princess J. (Bolden) Rivera on September 23, 1931.
Nicholas was honorably discharged from the United States Army and then went into construction and eventually became the Chief Executive Officer of his own company, Cupola Construction Co. The company installed guide rail, fencing and highway signs throughout Eastern Pennsylvania.
After Nicholas got out of the construction business, he went into healthcare working for MedTrans in Parkesburg, PA. He assisted many elderly patients by transporting them to and from their appointments.
When he wasn’t working, he enjoyed reading, playing scrabble, working on his yard, and spending time with his wife, kids, grandkids and great-grandkids and complaining about the Philadelphia Eagles.
Nicholas River, Sr., is survived by his wife of almost 57 years, Carole A. (Covert) Rivera; son, Nicholas R Rivera, Jr. (Robbie) of Chichester, PA; daughter, Angela Rivera who was his caretaker, of Coatesville, PA; grandchildren, Princess, Vinny, EJ and Nicki. Three great grandsons, Damar, Xavier and Julian, a special niece, Roberta Smith Pratt of Atlanta Georgia and a special Cousin Foree Greene of Washington, DC. Plus a host of family and friends.
