Maxine Hines Davis Obituary

Maxine Rosalie (Hines) Davis "Tini", 76, of Coatesville, PA, passed away Saturday, December 20, 2020, at Green Meadows Rehabilitation & Nursing Center in Malvern, PA.

Born in Coatesville, PA, she was the daughter of the late Julius and Mary Hines.

Maxine received her education from the Coatesville Area School District. She graduated from S. Horace Scott Senior High School in 1963. She studied American Sign Language at the Spencer Tracey School for the deaf in California.

For many years, Maxine worked caring for children including the First Step Program of Chester County, the Adapt Program of Chester County, and Embreeville State Hospital. She also worked with several Care Counselor programs including private duty programs with deaf and mentally challenged students at the Pennsylvania School for the Deaf.

Maxine was a member of the First Baptist Church of Passtown in Coatesville.

She spent many years dedicating herself in service to her family and friends as a babysitter. Most of all she loved the Lord and made him first in her life.

Maxine leaves to cherish her memories; two sons, Tyrone Davis of Ardmore, PA, and Aearon Davis of Coatesville; sister, Emma Mae Hines; brother, Uley M. Hines, both of Coatesville; 2 granddaughters, Samantha Davis and Atiya Deduckson Davis; 5 great-grandchildren: Daren Lee, Lilly Davis, Laila RosaLee Davis, JayAngelo Davis and Jupiter Adonis Davis, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She also leaves those she especially appreciated: Torey-Terri, Porky; childhood lifetime friends: Alfreda Morton Jones, Patricia Brown and Elnora Brown.

She was preceded in death by sister, Edith Brickus; brothers, James C. Hines, Carl M. Hines Sr., Eugene Hines, Oscar F. Hines, and a good friend, Norma Jean Bryant Barnes.

A burial will be held March 31, 2021 at 11am and New Evergreen.
