Maxine Baker Obituary

Maxine G. Baker, "Max", 77 of Coatesville, Pennsylvania, passed away, Monday, May 13, 2019 at her residence.

Born in Coatesville, she was the daughter of the late Robert Lee Graham and Margaret Franklin Graham.  She was a graduate of S. Horace Scott High School.

She was the wife of James E. Baker, Sr., with whom she shared 44 years of marriage. James and Maxine worked together at the Coatesville VA Hospital for 28 years and retired together on the same day. Maxine also worked for the Coatesville School District for 12 years.

Maxine was a beautiful woman with a huge heart who is truly loved by many. She was the matriarch, the backbone, bridging the connection of six generations. Even in her last days she cared for people selflessly and compassionately without complaint. She was a faithful member of the Coatesville area Kingdom Hall congregation. Serving Jehovah in field ministry gave her great pleasure. She will be remembered as a pillar of strength both in her family and in the community as she truly embodied the spirit of service.

She is deeply missed by her husband, James E. Baker of Coatesville; daughters, Letitia Stainbrook (Scott) of Newark, DE, Nicole Davis of San Diego, CA, Sabrina White (Tony Bethea) of Pottstown, Leann Riley of Royersford; son, James Baker, Jr. (Susan) of Lancaster; brothers, Gilbert Graham (Elsie) of Coatesville, PA, Min. Rodney P. Mohammed of Coatesville, Wayne Graham (Theresa) of Coatesville; daughter-in-law, Benita Coleman-Davis of Middletown, DE; 15 grandchildren, 16 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by sons, Jeffrey White, Donald White, Aaron Davis; sisters, Shirley Mae Gambala, Sarah Graham, Robin Graham; and brother, Glen Mays Graham.
