Mary Elizabeth Goodwin

Mary Elizabeth Goodwin, 104, of West Chester, formerly of Kennett Square, PA, passed away Friday, April 17, 2020, at the Newport Meadows Nursing Facility in Christiana, PA.

She was born on February 14, 1916, in Havre de Grace, Maryland. Mary was the daughter of the late Laura and Rev. John Daniels.  She was the wife of the late Raymond Goodwin. She lived in Kennett Square PA. where she raised her family.

Mary was always very friendly and happy to greet her many friends and family.  In her earlier years, she did mostly domestic work and caregiving.  In her later years, she resided at the Harrison Nursing and Rehabilitation Home in Christiana, PA. She was given the affectionate name, "Mom-Mom" because she was the most senior resident there.

She was loved by her family and will be truly missed by all in her life. 

She will be deeply missed by five daughters:  Linda Washington and Margaret Foster of West Chester; Ruth E. Goodwin of Wilmington DE, Arlene Goodwin of Exton, and Vanessa Boddy of Coatesville; two sons, Albert “Jerry” Goodwin of  West Grove, Ronald Goodwin of Oxford; daughter-in-law, Yvonne Goodwin of  West Grove; son-in-law, Gerald Boddy of Coatesville; 25  grandchildren and many great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by three sons: Leon Goodwin, Thomas Goodwin, and Larry Goodwin. Also in memorial and forever special in her life during earlier years the late William Stafford.

Due to the current pandemic, memorial services will be held at a later date.
