Mary Scott (Clarke) Gahagan

Mary Scott Gahagan, 92, of Rockledge, PA passed away on Friday, May 6, 2022. 

Mary, affectionately known as “Mame”, was born on March 2, 1930, to the late Arthur Edmund and Mary Bruce (Scott) Clarke in Philadelphia. 

After Mary graduated from Kensington High School, she went on to work as a purchasing agent in a Philadelphia bank, and as a bookkeeper at Ker Packaging.

Mame put her family above all else, and her nieces, nephews, great, and great-great nieces and nephews all have fond memories of spending time with her.  She had a deep love for her dogs, which were always her loyal companions.  Her many passions of traveling, cooking, coloring, crafts, politics, and more inspired her and others to be creative and expressive. Mame enjoyed working the polls at her firehouse for all voting events.

Mary was predeceased by her husband David Gahagan, and siblings Arthur Clarke, George Clarke, and Florence Kliewer.

She is survived by her nephews and nieces, Sheryll Smiley (Mark), Don Kliewer (Pat), Debbie Baker (Don), Sandy Creger (Duane), Kathy Parrish (Mark Lincoln), Mark Kliewer (Rachel), Diane Doran (Mike), Ken Clarke (Sigga), Linda Connelly (Tim), Trudy Robertson, Nancy Plunkett (Jim), George Clarke (Julie) and many great-nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews who loved spending time with her on a regular basis.

Mary’s graveside service will be held privately.
