Marjorie Brake Obituary

Marjorie E. Brake, “Margie”, 89, of Coatesville, PA passed away Tuesday, May 4, 2021, at Pocopson Home.

Born in Parkesburg, she was the daughter of the late Fredrick London and Iva F. Gray.

She was the wife of the late Johnny Robert Brake with whom she shared many years of marriage.

Margie was known for working in the Soup Kitchen at Hutchinson UAME Church. She enjoyed traveling, bingo, and playing card games. She loved listening to music, especially “My Girl” by the Temptations. She loved her family and cherished her grandchildren.

Marjorie is survived by a daughter, Amanda Brake of Coatesville; three sons: Haneef Shabazz (Annette) of Coatesville, Yusef Brake of Philadelphia, Jerome Brake (Darlene) of Coatesville; sisters, Joyce London Scott, Betty Jane London; brothers, Michael London (Gloria), Harry London, Andrew London, Lester London (Carol), Larry London (Anita), Barry London, Carl London; 25 grandchildren and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by son, Joseph Andrew Brake; daughters, Lucinda Brake, Beatrice Woods; sisters: Tilly Agnes Lavender, Gertrude Ford, Margaret Butcher, Ada London, Dorothy London; brothers, Fredrick London, Ronald London, Harold London, James London, Edward London, Robert London, Billy London, and Lewis London. 

A walk-thru public viewing will be held from 9 AM to 10:45 AM, on Saturday, May15, 2021, at Wright Funeral & Cremation Services, 725 Merchant Street, Coatesville, PA.  Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the funeral service will be held privately with limited seating for the immediate family only. The service can be viewed LIVE on Zoom beginning at 10:45 AM by using the link below.
