Marcella Vaughn, 74, of Coatesville, PA, passed away peacefully, on Wednesday, March 2, 2022, at the Chester County Hospital in West Chester, PA.
Born in Atlantic City, NJ, she was the daughter of the late Marvin and Margaret Shuff. She was raised by her grandmother, Bessie Bread. Marcella received her education from the Atlantic City public school system. After graduation, she relocated with her family to Coatesville in 1968.
She worked as a nurse’s assistant at the Coatesville VA Hospital for 37 years until she retired in 2014.
She enjoyed bowling, reading, traveling and collecting angels.
Marcella was a member of the Tabernacle Baptist Church for many years serving with the Rose Bud Ushers and was a past member of the Celestial Tones Choir. She was also a member of the Interdenominational Church Ushers Association (ICCUA). She has been a member of Christian Faith Fellowship in Downingtown since 2006. She loved the Lord and found comfort in the scripture which says, "I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the LORD, Which made heaven and earth.”- Psalm 121:1.
Marcella is survived by son, Kenneth H. Bond, Jr. of Coatesville; daughter, Kiesha L. Bond (Tyrone) of Coatesville; 8 grandchildren: Donte (Erin), Kiara, Jo’van, Kenneth III, ShaKenya, Deatrick, Dominic, and Kevin; 3 great-grandchildren: Jaydn, Dominic, Ta’Jae, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Rev. William A. Johnson, Eugene Shuff; three sisters, Bessie McLauren, Delores Jones, and Shirley Thompson.
A celebration of her life will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, March 10, 2022, at the Tabernacle Baptist Church, 819 Coates Street, Coatesville, PA 19320, with a viewing beginning at 9:00 AM, until the start of the service.
