Linda R. Hammond

Linda R. Hammond, 75, of Coatesville, PA, passed away Saturday, June 24 2023 at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. Born in NC, to the late Leroy and Doris Hammond, she was raised by the late George and Beulah Best.

Linda attended Coatesville High School. She worked in food services and was a nurse’s assistant at the Coatesville VA Hospital for 46 years.

Linda was a great cook and liked to entertain. She loved and was excited about each holiday. She was extremely festive, always decorating and dressing up for the holidays, especially Christmas.

She is survived by her daughters, Arhonda Artis Hatfield (Anthony) of Honey Brook, and Monique N. Artis of Coatesville; grandchildren, Marcus Hall, Anthony Artis Hatfield Jr., Lynnae Hatfield; great-grandchildren, Sarai Hatfield, Valerie Hatfield; life-long friends, Nate Bookman, John “JR” Roberts; cousin Kim (Richard) of North Carolina, and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.

 In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by a grandson, Dominique Jennings.

A memorial service will be held in her remembrance at 11:00 AM, Wednesday, July 5, 2023, at the Episcopal Church of the Trinity, 323 East Lincoln Highway, Coatesville, PA, 19320.  Family and friends may visit with one another during a visitation beginning at 10:30 AM. Please note: There will not be a viewing per Linda's expressed wishes.
