Lewis L. Lyons, "Lenny", 62, of Phoenixville, PA, passed away Thursday, September 12, 2019 at Phoenixville Hospital.
Born in Coatesville, PA on May 3, 1957, Lewis was the son of the late Raymond Lyons, Sr. and Edith Catherine (Segers) Lyons. He was affectionately known as Lenny by his family and friends.
As a young boy he was raised in Coatesville and later the family moved to Downingtown, PA, were he attended the Downingtown Area Schools. He was a graduate of Downingtown Senior High School. He later served in the United States Army until he was honorably discharged.
In 1994 Lenny started dating the love of his life Alexis Marie Jones and on October 29, 2000 they were married. They were together for 25 years.
Lenny worked as a custodian at West Chester University and at the Coatesville VA Hospital in the Ground Maintenance department.
Lenny was a member of Bethel Baptist Church of Phoenixville where he served in the Missionary Ministry.
Lenny was a friendly person who loved helping people, traveling, and walking. He loved to sing and was known to be a sharp dresser. He was an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan. Most of all he loved his family and enjoyed his grandchildren.
He is also survived by his beloved wife, Alexis Lyons of Phoenixville, PA; daughters, Vaughn Flowers of Eagleville, PA, Alfreda Bacon of Lancaster, PA; sons: Alex Thompson (Alesia) of Coatesville, PA, Sha'Rone Thompson (Myra) of Philadelphia, PA, Mastafa Thompson of Phoenixville, PA; brothers, Raymond Lyons, Jr. of Coatesville, PA, Michael Lyons (Olivia) of Yeadon, PA; sisters, Debra Lyons of Fairfield, CA, Barbara Burrage Lyons of West Chester, PA, Carol Harris (James) of Coatesville, PA; mother-in-law, Phyllis Holmes of Coatesville, PA; many grandchildren; 1 great-granddaughter, Sakarah Grace Thompson; God-daughter, Dakota Michelle Johnson and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles and friends.
In addition to his parents Lenny was preceded in death by a brother, Julius Ricky Lyons and a sister, Edith Lyons.
A viewing will be held 5 PM to 7 PM on Sunday, September 22, 2019 at Wright Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc., 725 Merchant Street, Coatesville, PA. Homegoing Services will be held at 6 PM on Monday, September 23, 2019 at Bethel Baptist Church, 412 Fairview Street, Phoenixville, PA with a viewing beginning at 4 PM.
Interment with Military Honors will be held at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery in Annville, PA at 11:30 AM Tuesday, September 24, 2019.
