Kena Morton Obituary

Kena Keeann Antoinette (Jackson) Morton, of Coatesville, PA, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, November 12, 2023. She was 46 years old.

Born in Coatesville in 1977, she was the daughter of Marsha Ann (Barber) London, and the late William Thomas Jackson. She was the wife of Albert Morton IV with whom she shared 21 years of marriage.

After graduating from Lan-Chester Christian School, Kena attended Eastern College in Saint David's, PA, where she earned a Bachelor of Science degree in education.

Kena was a homemaker, a job from which she never took a day off. She strove to ensure her family was taken care of, and they were. She was a former Childcare Director and teacher at the Coatesville Daycare. She also formerly taught Kindergarten at Lan-Chester Christian School.

Kena was a faithful believer and follower of Jesus. The Bible was the guidebook to her life. Through the Word, she left a firm biblical foundation in the hearts of her children. She valued order and decency in all things. She credited her grandparents, Anthony and Arzelia Barber, with instilling these ideals within her, by example.

Kena enjoyed taking family trips to the beach and decorating for the holidays. She had an eye for home décor and the work of her hands was always neat and meticulous. She was always happy when caring for her family.  She was motivated by love. She loved to listen to music, especially the sounds of 70’s R&B, and gospel music.

In addition to her husband Albert, Kena leaves precious memories to her two children, Albert Morton V, and Alina Morton; siblings, Kimberly Lavender (Terry) of Coatesville, and Jonathan Barber-Williams of Coatesville; mother, Marsha A. (Barber) London of Coatesville; aunt, Toni Barber of Coatesville; a close friend, Angela Peoples, as well as other relatives and friends.

Kena was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents, Anthony and Arzelia Barber, and a close friend, Tiffany Dickinson.

A graveside service will be held privately.
