Jacquita Lanette Wilkerson

Jacquita Lanette Thompson-Wilkerson, "Quita", 49, of Coatesville, PA, passed away suddenly on Sunday, March 13, 2022, at her residence.

Born in Lancaster, PA, she was the beloved daughter of Vanessa Thompson Lewis and James N. Griffy.

Jacquita was a 1990 graduate of Octorara High School. She attended Delaware County Community College. Jacquita enjoyed doing hair and was a very talented hairdresser. She received her license from Gordon Phillips Beauty Academy. She had a teaching license as well.

Jacquita had an eye for fashion; she liked to look her best. She loved candy, banana pudding and enjoyed listening to R & B. Jacquita had a chameleon-like personality, and a laugh that made you laugh. She also made everyone feel special like they were her favorite.  Most of all, she loved her family. Her whole world revolved around her son, LaQuise. He was the love of her life.

Jacquita leaves cherished memories to her son, LaQuise Elijah Thompson-Wilkerson of Coatesville; mother, Vanessa Thompson Lewis (Carey) of Philadelphia; father, James N. Griffy (Sherry) of Lancaster; sisters: Twanna Griffy of Coatesville, Nikki Bennett-Williams (Joseph) of Philadelphia, Sherrell Toaltoan of Lancaster, Melissa Porter (Tyrell) of Lancaster, Dianita Griffy of Coatesville; brothers, James Nelson Wright of Pottstown, Khan J. Laws of Philadelphia, Armon Richardson, Sr. (Christine) of Pottstown; maternal grandmother, Rose Thompson a host of loving and supportive aunts and uncles including Marty Griffy, Debbie Griffy, Angela Edwards, Cynthia Thompson, Mike Thompson, and John Griffy; nieces and nephews whom she helped raise: Jayvon Griffy, Sherron Burgess, Jr., Armoni Griffy; former spouse, Ronald L. Wilkerson of Pottstown; and a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.

She was preceded in death by her paternal grandmother, Dorothy Griffy who raised her and maternal grandfather, Raymond Thompson.

A celebration of her life will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, March 26, 2022, at the Second Baptist Worship Center, 857 Lumber Street, Coatesville, PA 19320, with a viewing beginning at 9:00 AM.
