Life began for Jacqueline "Jackie" Tucker, wife of the late William Beverly Tucker, Sr. in Coatesville, PA on December 16, 1945. She was one of eight daughters of the late Dolly Mae Arnold-Tooles and Wilbur "Sticks" Tooles. She entered into eternal rest at the Pottstown Hospital -Tower Health in Pottstown, PA on Tuesday, November 21, 2023. After fighting a courageous battle against several medical conditions, God dispatched his angel of mercy and called Jackie home from labor to reward.
Jackie was educated in the Coatesville Area School District, and years later, attended night school to receive her diploma. She was dedicated to working hard to care for herself and her family which is evident by the many years she worked as a young woman at Clifford’s Home for developmentally challenged youth. She also worked many years at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Coatesville, PA in the dietary department where she was dedicated to working hard to care for the veterans. She received numerous citations and awards for her commitment to providing for the dietary needs of the veterans until her retirement. Years later, she continued her commitment to caring for others by serving as a home health aide for several homebound seniors. Ultimately, she found her passion in working hard to care for others and in giving her time and resources to family and friends when needed.
Jackie accepted the Lord and realized a calling on her life as a young woman. For many years, she was a faithful servant and member of the Hutchinson Memorial UAME Church in Coatesville, PA. There she served on the kitchen committee. For many years she was one of the main cooks for the Coatesville Soup Kitchen. More recently, she has been a proud member of New Life and Christ Fellowship in Coatesville, PA. She loved hearing the word, listening to gospel music and reading the bible. She got the most joy from cooking fabulous meals and desserts for her children and grandchildren. Her energetic, generous, kind and caring spirit will be missed but never forgotten!
Jackie leaves two children to cherish her memories: William "Billy" Beverly Tucker, Jr. and Karen Tucker, both of Coatesville, PA; two grandchildren, Taylor K. Tucker and Kaiden S. Holmes-Tucker. Also left to mourn her are four sisters, Kathryn Bailey, Gwendolyn Tooles, Deborah Tooles all of Coatesville, PA, and Dr. Carla Tooles-Walls (Benjamin) of Beltsville, MD; niece Brenda Johnson; three close friends: Veronica Norris, Vivian McCray and Valeria Mitchell; brother-in-law: Alfred Tucker; and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, friends and her god-daughter Aminata Sarnor.
In addition to her parents and husband, Jackie was preceded in death by her sisters: Barbara A. Johnson, Joan Tooles-Brown and Margaret Tooles; niece, Michelle L. Johnson; nephews: Stephen Tooles, Cameron Tooles, Roger Johnson, Jerome Tucker and Ronald Johnson; uncle: Andrew Arnold; in-laws: Arnold Bailey, Reatha Tucker, George & Anna Tucker, John Tucker, David & Alsenia Williams, Doris Ford, Ineda Wilson, Leonard & Bernice Tucker Surratt, James Tucker, John “Chuck” Tucker Jr. and Herman & Jimmie Dean-Tucker.
