Ian Nash, “Burners”, 43, of West Chester, PA passed away Sunday, February 28, 2021, at Penn Medicine Hospice in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Born in West Chester, PA, Ian was the son of Harry W. Nash, Jr. and the late Jacqueline Marie Purnell.
Ian attended the West Chester Area public schools and graduated from East High School in 1996. In high school, he excelled in sports. He was a talented football player. After graduation, he attended Kutztown University and later, Cheyney University.
Over the years he was employed in various construction jobs.
Ian enjoyed going to the beach and loved to cook competitively with his siblings. He enjoyed cooking everything. His girls’ favorite dish was Mac and Cheese. He had an infectious smile. Ian was a sports fanatic. Most of all, he was an avid Philadelphia Eagles Fan.
Ian loved to laugh and had a very distinctive laugh. He was very popular, "the mayor of the development". Colleen always told him, "we'll ride it till the wheels come off."
Ian is survived by his companion of 18 years, Colleen Kinman of Coatesville, PA; two daughters, Tihona Nash, Laylah Nash; step-daughter, Akhaila Wells; father, Harry W. Nash, Jr. of West Chester; siblings: Beth Purnell (Charles Lewis) of Sadsburyville, PA, Anthony Nash (Sheri) of Harrisburg, PA, Joy Nash of Claymont, DE, Benji Nash (Tanya) of King of Prussia, PA, Harrison Nash (Jeanelle Toney) of West Chester, PA, Erin Miller (Christopher) of Denver, PA; uncles, Ronald Purnell (Kim), Allen Nash (Nina) of Bowie, MD, John Nash; aunt, Florence Butcher (Leroy) and many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
In addition to his mother, Jacqueline M. Purnell, he is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Clarence and Mable Purnell; and his fraternal grandparents, Louise Nash, and Harry W. Nash, Sr.
A walk-thru public viewing will be held from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, on Sunday, March 7, 2021, at Wright Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc., 725 Merchant Street, Coatesville, PA 19230.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the funeral service will be held privately with limited seating for only the immediate family.
