George McFetridge, Jr. Obituary

George John McFetridge, Jr., 61, of Honey Brook, PA, passed away suddenly on February 24, 2022. He was the youngest son of George McFetridge, Sr., and Florence Crager McFetridge.

George attended Great Valley High School graduating with the class of 1979. He completed training at Central Chester County Vocational-Technical School in 1982. He worked with his brother-in-law Frank at Combustion Maintenance Service, Inc. from 1983-1985. He then worked with his brother Bill, at MAC Contractors for 33 years and was a co-owner for the last 25 years. In his years with MAC Contractors, he worked on specialty roofing projects for famous families and businesses down the mainline. He worked for Devereux in carpentry and maintenance since 2018.

George was a member and Treasurer of Church of Christ Ercildoun, and his life was centered around serving the Lord. He served as the officiator of services for Church of Christ each Sunday and anything that was needed to keep the church in order otherwise. He had such a caring, humble spirit and personality. George was constantly doing for others and never needed or wanted to be recognized for his acts of service.

He was an incredibly talented master of all trades. George was a genius in solving problems no one else could. He taught many people, especially children, different trades. He would take them to different projects with him to teach them how to work safely and put time into the work they do. He would pay the children who worked with him to show them how to earn money. Many of those whom he taught have gone on to use those skills in successful careers.

Things that brought George true joy were playing pool on his phone, swimming in his pool, and enjoying a good meal at a restaurant.

George adored his wife and was an excellent provider. He loved his family dearly and gave fully of himself to meet their needs and desires. George embraced his position as husband and father exceptionally. Spending time with wife, children, and grandchildren, “made him the happiest man in the world.” George was always thoughtful toward his family and made sure no one, his wife, children, or grandchildren ever wanted for anything. He was a wonderful husband, father, uncle, and grandfather.

George leaves to cherish his memory: wife, Dovetta Brazzle McFetridge; children, Rachel Wick (Eric) of Thorndale, Megan Koutouzakis (Daniel) of Boothwyn PA, Charles Brazzle of Coatesville PA, Steve Brazzle (Alana) of Coatesville, PA, Joseph Assetto(Michael) of Ardmore, PA, Laura McFetridge of Plymouth Meeting PA, Stepfen Allen of Coatesville PA, Evander Wilson of Coatesville, PA, and Annie McFetridge of Malvern PA; siblings, brother-in-law Frank Hunter,  William “Bill” McFetridge (Kim), Richard McFetridge (Brian); grandchildren, Shirron, Ronan, Dymere, Caiden, Evan, Anyla, Rose, Aleesa, Arya, and Triton.

George is preceded in death by his parents George, Sr. and Florence, his first wife, Jeanne Evans McFetridge, and his oldest sibling Diana Hunter.

George will be deeply missed. We will cherish his memory in our hearts.
