George Elmer Dodson, Jr., 69, of Malvern, PA, passed away Tuesday, September 21, 2021, at the Southeastern Veteran’s Medical Center in Spring City, PA.
Born in West Chester, PA, George was one of ten children of Sara Jane Pauline (Francis) Dodson and George E. Dodson, Sr.
Shortly after graduating from Great Valley High School, George enlisted in the United States Navy, serving from 1971 to 1985. George was a proud Veteran and avid Philadelphia sports team fan.
George worked in many fields throughout his life. George enjoyed cooking and worked as a line cook for several establishments including Malvern Meeting House in Frazer, Baldino's, also known as The Little Store in West Chester as well as working for Aramark at West Chester University where he had the pleasure of cooking for his favorite Philadelphia Eagle training camp players, Randell Cunningham and Reggie White.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Susan Diane; his second wife, Marilyn Theresa; his daughter, Rachelle Marie Dodson; three sisters, Charlene M. Francis-Carter, Pamela J. Francis-Butcher, Beverly E. Dodson; one brother, Ronald L. Dodson, one niece and one nephew along with several aunts and uncles.
George is survived by four sisters, Evangelist Mary E. Turner of Philadelphia, Lena M. Dodson of West Chester, Cathy L. Dodson of Chester, and Dawn M. Dodson of Coatesville; one brother, Walter K Dodson (wife Tawni) of Maryland and sister/cousin Vivian Hill of Coatesville, along with several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, friends and so many others too numerous to mention but certainly not forgotten.
