Eugene Clark, Sr. Obituary

Eugene Clark Sr. was born on May 31, 1927 in Spriggs, West Virginia to the late Jerome Clark and the late Beatrice Eugenia Green. He was their only child. He departed this life on August 14, 2019 in his home of 53 years located in Coatesville “Rock Run” PA.

Eugene was drafted January 31, 1946 at the age of 19 and served in the United States Army. Private Clark served his country in WWII and was awarded the WWII Victory Medal and the Army of Occupation Medal in Japan. Returning from service Eugene met and fell in love with and wed the late Dorothy May Amway.

Eugene was an amazing cook and loved his special Shady Maple getaways and he loved his E.A.G.L.E.S!

He loved to play baseball as a young man, and playing for the V.A. showcasing his talents on the field.

He worked as a crane operator for Lukens Steel in Coatesville for over 26 years. Eugene was a member of Trinity United Bible Church in Coatesville since 1991 where he served as a dedicated Deacon, a former member of the choir and served in the “Prison Ministry” leading service at Chester County Prison.  He was a humble man and lived a saved and holy life encouraging others to do the same.

Eugene was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy May Clark and two granddaughters, Kayla Beatrice Clark and Jasmine Shonte Clark. 

He leaves to celebrate and cherish his life his children: Michelle Marie Fogle (James) of Harrisburg, Jean Delores Jones (Leon), Eugene Clark Jr. and Yvette Diane Powell (Dave) all of Coatesville, Kim Babette Mukalian (Ronald) of Downingtown, Shelia Morgan of Washington DC; 19 grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. Eugene is also survived by a very special brother-like cousin, William Green a.k.a “Big Jr.”; remaining relatives and his best friends: Mr. Bill London, Pastor Charles Harris, Brother John Baker and Mr. Hap Squires.

Homegoing Services will be celebrated at 10 AM on Saturday, August 24, 2019 at Trinity United Bible Church, 50 S. 8th Avenue, Coatesville, PA. A viewing will be held from 8:30 AM until the start of the service.

Interment with Military Honors will be in Philadelphia Memorial Park, 124 Phoenixville Pike, Frazer, PA.
