Ellsworth G. Stokes, Jr.

Butch's story:

His earthly chapter ended on January 6, 2022, with his daughter holding his hand and his wife by his side.

His unique spirit came to this planet to be the first son of Ellsworth and Bertha Stokes.

If you had the pleasure of spending time with him, you have experienced several chapters of his life.

The chapters on his devotion to his family, especially his grandchildren, could fill a book in and of themselves. Simply, they were the universe to him. There wasn't anything he wouldn't do to make sure their every need and dreams were met.

Working was another important chapter.  He worked for Exelon Energy for several; years and was proud of the work he did there. His work ethic and dedication can only be described by those who worked with him. His co-workers describe him as someone who was always smiling and laughing, who could make any job better and always made sure things were done right. Many have stated how proud they were to have known and worked with him. 

While our hearts are heavy from the absence of his physical being, we feel and hold his love within. If you believe we go to a better place after our time on earth, please be happy he is there.

We ask that you console the family not with words of sorrow but with words that celebrate his life and uplift them. 

As per his request, there will not be a funeral service. The family will have private gatherings. We welcome you to continue to celebrate his story by sharing your chapter in his life by leaving a comment or sending a note.
