Elizabeth Culclasure Obituary

Elizabeth was born on December 29, 1981 at Luke Air Force Base in Phoenix, AZ to James Ragland (Nikita) and Kari Sullivan.

Since Elizabeth’s father was in the Air Force, she was educated at Fort McGuire Air Force Base and various other places where he was stationed, including Minnesota and Georgia.  Finally moving to Coatesville, she graduated from Coatesville Area Senior High School (CASH) in 1999. While attending CASH she was a cheerleader and earned a full scholarship to college.

Elizabeth loved cooking, poetry, writing, all kinds of music, painting, making clothes and crafting jewelry. Family was a big part of her life. One of her favorite activities was going to West Chester to play Mrs. Pac Man with her grandmother, Lillian and getting a grilled cheese sandwich. She cherished her grandfather referring to her as his bird because she was free spirited.

More than anything, she loved spending time with her children playing baseball, football, basketball and shooting pool. She also enjoyed watching movies and listening to music.

Her children inherited parts of her characteristics; Amaris inherited her understanding and confronting spirit. Amir: inherited her empathetic nature and, "mom gifted me life".

While Armani and Judah followed their mother's teachings. Amara, though her stepchild, was loved as her own.

Elizabeth inherited a love for animals and plants early from her father and shared that knowledge with her children. She taught her children the importance of embracing all life and taking care of the Earth.  She loved rescuing all kinds of animals. She communicated with birds and knew the difference between them. She spoke life into everything and everyone she met. She encouraged her children to discover their authentic selves and seek the truth.  She was strong and firm in her spirituality.  Her spirit still lives in us all and as her children, we will continue her legacy.

We can almost hear her saying, "That's my story and I’m sticking to it"! "Aunt Prinnyyy" (intentional extra Y), and "Yanahana yanahwey, yanahanaweya” (you give from above, I give from below).

In addition to her children and parents, Elizabeth is survived by her paternal grandmother, Lillian Ragland, Coatesville PA; siblings, Jason (LaTiesha), James Ragland both of Georgia, and Donita Ragland of Georgia; aunt, Adranih Ernay; uncles, Steven Ragland of South Carolina, and Otis Ragland, Jr. of Tennessee.

A Letter to my children from Mommy written on 9/8/2018

“A woman, who leaves behind children that respect her, will never be forgotten, and has fulfilled her purpose. A path to the Divine, beyond and within us, for her children, her most prized possessions on Earth.  Armani, Judah, Amir, Amira, Amaris, and Amara, Never forget me. I’m here in death, Just seek and believe.

Love me,

Elizabeth Kay
