Eleanor Lambert

Eleanor Lambert, 66, of Coatesville, PA departed this life Wednesday, September 13, 2023, at the Pottstown Memorial Hospital.

Born in Coatesville, she was the daughter of the late Francis Harden and Lena Marie Wilkerson Lambert.

She was a 1974 graduate of Coatesville Area Senior High School, and furthered her education at West Chester University, with the goal of becoming a medical doctor.

She was previously employed by Bryn Mawr Rehabilitation Center and Pocopson Home as a nursing assistant.

Eleanor enjoyed spending time with her family and was known for her kind and pleasant personality and her willingness to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Although she didn’t have any children, she loved, nurtured, and cared for her nieces and nephews like they were her own.  She had a great sense of humor and enjoyed making others laugh. While growing up, she was the only one in her family who actually liked working in the family garden, and was thrilled when her dad would let her drive the tractor.  

Eleanor took delight in cooking and experimenting with new recipes. She enjoyed singing and listening to gospel music. Her favorite hymns were "Rough Side of the Mountain" and "He's an on time God." Having an appreciation for the arts and travel, she enjoyed listening to classical music, watching opera performances, and traveling to the Bahamas.

Eleanor was a member of the True Yokefellow Church in Philadelphia, where she was baptized and faithfully attended service for over 30 years.  Most importantly, Eleanor loved the Lord, which brought her great joy and comfort throughout her life. 

Eleanor will be so deeply missed and leaves to cherish her memory, three sisters, Mary Jane Poe of Newark, DE, Evelyn Louise Lambert of Coatesville, and Deborah Ann Johnson, and her husband Isiah of Willingboro, NJ; two brothers, James Albert Lambert of Coatesville, and Chester Lambert, and his wife Doris, of Toughkenamon; sister-in-law Deborah Lambert, special church friend, Gwendolyn Lewis and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings Francis (Tom) Lambert, Lena (Cissie) Allen, and Eugene Lambert. 

Eleanor touched the lives of many and will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM, on Saturday, September 30, 2023, at Wright Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc., 725 Merchant St., Coatesville, PA, 19320.
