Drucilla Ann (Lawrence) Robinson, wife of Joseph F. Robinson, passed away on April 29, 2022. Born in Coatesville, PA on July 1, 1953, she was the daughter of the late Henry Arthur Lawrence, Jr., aka “June” and Pearl Boyce Lawrence.
In her early childhood, Drucilla attended Caln elementary school. She formed a strong bond with friends in her neighborhood of Carvers Court. Those bonds turned into her extended family whom she kept in contact throughout her adult life.
In 1971 she graduated from Coatesville Area Senior High School and began a career at the Coatesville VA Hospital. Drucilla accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at the Second Baptist Church in Coatesville.
In her adulthood, she graduated from Goldey Beacom College in 2020, majoring in Business Administration.
After retiring she settled in Wilmington, Delaware, with her husband of 25 years, where she resided at the time of her homegoing.
Drucilla, affectionately called “Dru”, was a beautiful, generous, caring woman. Wherever she went, people were instantly drawn to her warm and kind spirit.
She enjoyed Facebook where she always showed her love and support to family and friends. She was most fond of listening to her oldies and reminiscing. She loved good food and family barbecues. She looked forward to her regularly scheduled shopping days with her only living sister Helen, affectionately called “My Sissy”, and visiting her only living brother, Bernard. She also adored being still, enjoying a beautiful day of sunshine outside in the yard.
She was a devoted wife who loved listening to her husband’s live band and attending events. She especially enjoyed spoiling her grandkids and granddog. She had an unbreakable loving bond with her daughter, who always remained close, and a special relationship with her son-in-law of 27 years. She was very much adored and had a strong presence in their lives.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by four sisters: Betty J. Hall, Pearl “Pinky” Lawrence, Patricia Jean Edwards, Mary A. Bigsby; brother, Donald A. “Donnie” Lawrence; step-daughter, Annikkawa “Nikki” Robinson and step-son, Joseph F. Robinson, Jr.
She leaves to cherish her memory devoted husband, Joseph F. Robinson; loving daughter, Nadine Milligan and her husband John of Modena, PA; stepson, Shane Smith of Florida; sister, Helen Lawrence of Coatesville, PA; brother, Bernard O. Lawrence and his wife Chrissandra of Lancaster, PA; three grandchildren, Taija, Ashlei, John Marcus of Modena, PA; eight step-grandchildren, Joshua, Justine, Janiqwa, Jeremy B., Joseph, Jeremy R.; beloved granddog, Benji, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
Drucilla was a loving wife, mother, sister, grandmother, aunt, and friend. Her warm presence and beautiful smile will never be forgotten.
The family is planning a private gathering. In lieu of flowers, the family requests monetary donations be made to the funeral home to help with funeral costs.
