Drevon "Munna" Echols Obituary

Drevon Marquil “Munna” Echols was born on August 17, 1995, in Coatesville, PA. He was the first-born son of Frances A. Sanchez of Lancaster, PA, and Dwight H. Echols, Jr. of Coatesville.

At a young age, Drevon developed a passion for dirt bikes so at the age of three years old, he began to ride and continue to do so until his untimely demise at the age of 28.

Drevon attended the Coatesville Area School District where he played football during his middle school years. He was known for his outspoken personality and charming smile. Growing up, he enjoyed going fishing with his Mum-Mum Bea and would eagerly accompany her to any yard sales and suburban neighborhoods with the mindset that they could turn one man’s trash into another man’s treasure.

Drevon spent his summers as a youth in Fayetteville, North Carolina at Fort Bragg, where he enjoyed catching small geckos with his little brother. There he developed a southern accent that friends and family got a kick out of and laughed about long after his normal enunciation had returned. He had plenty of “remember the time” laughs and giggles as he was quite the character in his own way. Drevon was outgoing and courageous. He enjoyed playing video games and hanging with friends whom he loved as brothers as well as his aunt “Dj” who was more like his sister.

Drevon learned to drive at the age of 14 and found a new passion in cars just as much as he did in dirt bikes. He purchased his first car at 16 years old and you couldn’t tell him anything. He would wash, wax, and wipe down his car even on a rainy day as it brought him peace and solitude having something to call his own. Drevon was indeed a mama's boy to those that knew him well and, dare I say, a ladie's man. Later he became a parent and took great pride in parenting his one and only son whom he loved dearly. Aside from being a loving father, he was an awesome big brother, fun uncle, loyal friend, and certainly the apple of his mother’s eyes. It has truly been a ray of sunshine, turning moments into memories with everyone that had the pleasure in sharing a part in his life.

He leaves to cherish those memories, both of his parents, Frances Annette Sanchez of Lancaster, PA and Dwight Hakeim Echols, Jr. of Coatesville, PA; his son Cartier Marquil Echols of Lancaster, PA; his brothers, Dwight Hakeim Echols, lll and Tysir Ra’Zhon Echols of Lancaster, PA; sisters, Aziyah Johnae Sanchez of Coatesville and Alirah Jahira Sanchez of Lancaster, PA; mother of his son, Diajah Curry of Lancaster; special friend, LaMia Smith of Chester; maternal grandfather, Francisco Sanchez of Parkesburg; paternal grandmother, Mary Elizabeth Echols of North Carolina, and a host of half siblings, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Drevon was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother, Beatrice A. Wilkerson; paternal grandfather Dwight H. Echols, Sr. and younger brother Dashawn H. Echols.

Drevon‘s legacy will live on through his son, and his memory will forever be alive through all who had the opportunity to know him and grew to love him.

Though my emotions are heavy, and my heart has fell, I realize this world’s oyster just wasn’t a big enough shell. May the heavens open for you, my dear son ~Mom
