David Palmer Obituary

David Matthew Palmer was born on Monday November 21, 1988 to Sheila Joyner and Charles Palmer. He spent his early years raised with his two older siblings Ossheney and Oscar Birch. During this time, in Philadelphia he was living between his mother and father. David graduated from Gompers Elementary in 1997 and he graduated from Beeber Middle School in 2002.  In that same year, David moved to Coatesville, PA, with his father.

While living in Coatesville, David attended Coatesville High School. He graduated from Coatesville High in 2007. During his time there David made a lot of friends, and his heart was attached to them and the city. He was affectionately known for his loyalty, comedic demeanor, dedication and uplifting spirit. David was considered the life of the party among his friends. Although David was not known for his lyricism, he managed a local rap group called ‘The Committy’ and enjoyed every minute of it!

After high school, David was on a quest to figure out what he wanted to do with his life and, what career path he wanted to take.  David took some college courses, and later decided he wanted to take up a career in HVAC.  He moved to Philadelphia and lived with his mother and brother for some time. He would often accompany his mother on travel assignments and trips to other states. He started school at CHI Institute to obtain his certification and license in HVAC.  He graduated and was excited to look for work in his new career choice.

When he wasn’t working in Philadelphia, David loved spending time with his niece and nephews Zaahid, Asheeyaanah and Ameer. He took them to every Marvel movie, and he accompanied his sister Ossheney on trips with the kids. He spent time with his brother Oscar which usually involved shooting the breeze about girls, clothing, or just life in general. He often said he liked his older brother’s sense of style. David was fond of family dinners at his sister’s house. Often, he was the first to finish, and the first to get a second plate. He also loved his alone time. David valued his space and peace. He played his favorite rapper’s music, blasting it as he relaxed with his cat, Oreo. That was a chill weekend for him.

When he rode back home to Coatesville, David loved eating “Angel Eggs” that his stepmother, Gloria, made especially for him. He spent time lounging around and joking with his father. They played cards, frequented the movies and went out for breakfast often. David traveled to Coatesville frequently throughout his adult years to spend time with his friends whom he loved dearly.

If David were reading this, he would roll his eyes and say c’mon sis with this mushiness!

David had dreams and plans for excelling in his career, moving to another state and sharing a home with a lovely lady. Unfortunately, David departed this life before he could experience those dreams.

David leaves behind his father Charles, mother Sheila, stepmother Gloria, sister Ossheney, brother Oscar, Aunts: Charlene, Melissa, Debbie and Peaches; Uncles, Bernard and Tony; his grandmother Elizabeth, niece Yaani, nephews Zaahid and Ameer, cousins in PA and New York, and a slew of loving loyal friends!!

David enjoyed life, rarely complained and tried to make the best of what he had. I challenge you all to do the same! His impact on your life doesn’t have to end. Live each day with intention and purpose, and never forget PALM DIDDY RUN THE CITY!!!
