Cornelius Jerome Shelton, 67, of Lancaster, PA, formerly of Coatesville, passed away Sunday, December 27, 2020 at LPN Hospice and Community Care in Mount Joy, PA.
Born in Coatesville, PA, on March 18, 1953, he was the son of the late Walter Shelton and Mildred (Shockley) Shelton. He was one of eighteen children.
He was formerly married to Donna L.Thompson Closson.
"Corn", as he was known by family and friends, graduated from Coatesville Area Senior High School in 1971. Over the years he had been employed at Lukens Steel, and the Coatesville V.A. Medical Center working in the dietary department.
Corn enjoyed hanging out with his friends, and loved watching country westerns shows, Kung Fu, and listening to "the oldies but goodies". He also had a love for cars.
Cornelius will leave many lasting memories to three sons; Ernest E. Douglas (Amy) of Coatesville, Terrance Jerome Thompson of Wilmington DE, and Konata A. Shelton (Gloria) of Coatesville; one daughter, Keenan A. McBride (Corey) of Exton, PA; three brothers, Sherman Shelton (Gardenia), Raymond Shelton (Brenda) and Sidney Shelton all of Coatesville; six sisters, Elder Violet Anthony of Thorndale, Martha Shelton, Mary Shelton, Cordelia Bowman all of Coatesville, and Elizabeth Hassan of Philadelphia; 9 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
He was preceded in death by brothers: William Shockley, David Shockley, Wayne Shelton, Elmer Shelton, Sr., Walter Shelton, Andrew Shelton, Sr., and James Shelton; and a sister, Rachel Tinsley.
