Mrs. Arzelia Ann Greenly Barber, 98, passed away Friday, February 21, 2020 at the Brandywine Hospital. Born on a farm in Whitehall, Maryland she was the youngest of eight children, of John Edward and Florence Greenly.
Arzelia moved to Coatesville in 1935. She attended the Passtown School in Valley Township, the James Adams School, and graduated from the Coatesville Senior High School, Class of 1939.
Arzelia married Anthony Barber on April 3, 1946. They were married for 68 years at the time of Anthony’s passing in 2014.
Mrs. Barber was a long time active member of The First Baptist Church of Passtown and active in the Coatesville Community. She was also the Proprietor of the New Evergreen Cemetery.
Mrs. Barber is survived by daughters Marsha B. London and Toni Barber; three grandchildren, and nine great-grandchildren, sister-in-law, Ella Barber Rudolph and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends. She was predeceased by one daughter, Robin, and siblings, Odessa Greenly Ford, Ernest, Vernon, Herman, Cecil, Oram, Aubrey Greenly and son-in-law, Ronald London.
Homegoing Services will be held 11 AM Friday, February 28, 2020 at the First Baptist Church of Passtown, 117 Barber Avenue, Coatesville. The viewing will be held from 9 AM until 10:45 AM. Interment will be in New Evergreen Cemetery in Coatesville.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the First Baptist Church of Passtown Educational Committee in her memory.
