Wanda Evette Singleton-Byrd, 64, of Coatesville, PA passed away surrounded by her family on Friday, February 14, 2025, at Temple University Hospital, in Philadelphia.
Wanda was born and raised in Philadelphia. She was the 3rd of 6 siblings born to Donald Singleton and Barbara "Bobbi" Gould Singleton. Two siblings preceded her in death (Kim Hayman and Tracy Singleton). She was the beloved wife of Randolph Byrd with whom she shared eleven years of marriage.
Wanda was educated in the Philadelphia school district. She attended Martin Luther King High School.
Over the years she was employed at various places, including the wedding factory, Philadelphia VA, the DMV and was a former Inventory Control Specialist at QVC.
Wanda was a caring person, who was loving, creative, funny, and a sweet soul who would light up any room she entered. She was an active member of NA for Coatesville and Philadelphia for many years. She was a dedicated sponsor for inmates in jail. She helped motivate others within the community. She celebrated 28 years clean and sober. Wanda enjoyed hosting tips to Las Vegas with her Father and going to the casinos. She had a passion for fashion, coordinating parties, taking pictures, and collecting sunglasses and purses. She also enjoyed sewing, karaoke, baking, and dogs (especially her babies).
Wanda will be deeply missed by her husband, Randolph Byrd; four children, Ashantee Singleton, LaRaine Harden, Shanice Dunlap, & Kourtne' Harden; 5 step-children, Kenya Byrd, Resse Byrd, Tyshaun Byrd, Alexis Byrd, and Sidney Byrd which one preceded by death (Kenya Byrd); mother, Barbara "Bobbi" Gould Singleton; siblings, Donna Singleton, Robin Stanford, Donald "Manny" Singleton; 1 goddaughter, Buffy McCray; 1 godson, Christopher Bennett; 3 aunts; 1 uncle; best friends, Sidney, Jackee, Cherese and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, February 27, 2025, at Wright Funeral & Cremation Services, 725 Merchant Street, Coatesville, Pa. A visitation will begin at 10:00 AM until the time of the service.
This service will not be livestreamed.
Interment will be held privately
