Vincent Martin Corbitt, of Coatesville, PA, departed this life while surrounded by his family, on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, at Paoli Memorial Hospital. He was 67 years old.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of Charles Corbitt, Sr. and Lizzie Chalmers. He was the husband of Vanessa Brickus Corbitt with whom he shared 16 years of marriage.
Vinny was a 1975 graduate of Cardinal Dougherty High School. After graduation, he enlisted in the United States Navy and faithfully served his country until he was honorably discharged.
Vinny's last years of employment include working at Coatesville Senior High School and Hillsdale Elementary School in West Chester where he was loved and cherished by all he met.
Vinny enjoyed playing and coaching basketball, he loved watching western movies and Law and Order, playing cards, especially Pinocle, and working with kids. He was an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan who also enjoyed baking sweet potato pies, and listening to the sounds of Old School music, Motown, R & B, and "City Country City" by War was one of his favorites. Most of all, Vinny enjoyed being with his family.
He leaves precious memories to his wife, Vanessa Corbitt of Coatesville; two step-children, son, William Lee (Judy) Fort Worth, Texas; daughter, Shenika Bookman of Greensboro, North Carolina; brother, Charles Corbitt, Jr. (Linda) of Upper Dublin, PA; aunt, Shirley Chalmers of Philadelphia; Azuri Pugh, whom he raised like a son; niece, Kayra Corbitt of Texas; nephews, Williams James, Jr. of Quakertown and Charles of Texas; great-nephews, Christian Avery and Carter Brickus, Jeremiah Homles; in-laws, Carla Harvey (Andre), Sandra Brickus, Reginald Brickus (Erica), Alisa Hines, Stephan Luby (Candace); 4 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; his pet Rottweiler, Duke; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins other relatives and friends.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, August 10, 2024, at Wright Funeral & Cremation Services, Inc., 725 Merchant Street, Coatesville, PA.
Vincent's cremated remains will be placed at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Tuesday, August 13, 2024, at 11:30 AM, 830 Highland Road, Newtown, PA. Full Military Naval Honors will be observed.
Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 AM until the start of the service.
