Veronica E. Norris, "Ronnie", 81, of Coatesville, PA, passed away suddenly on Monday, February 10, 2025, at the Chester County Hospital in West Chester, PA.
Born in Dorchester, South Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Lunetty Caleb Cherry. She was the wife of the late Claude Norris, Sr. with whom she shared many years of marriage before his passing in 2001.
She worked as a dietary supervisor at the Coatesville VA Medical Center for over 30 years until she retired.
Ronnie was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the V.F.W. of Coatesville. She enjoyed watching karate movies and cowboy movies.
Ronnie was a member of Faith Center United Ministries. She loved decorating, cooking, shopping, and spending time with her grandchildren. She had a personality that was upfront, honest, and direct. She loved listening to gospel music and was a fan of the Dallas Cowboys.
She will be deeply missed by her children, Claude Norris Jr. (Desiree), Darryl L. Norris (Debra), Darnell Norris, Yolanda M. Norris; sister, Sadie Morrison (James); sister-in-laws, Alice Smith, Netty Chase, Edith "Sissy" Holmes; 14 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren; goddaughters Veronica Miller, Lia Syter, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her grandson, Claude Norris III; brothers, Clifton Ezekiel Cherry, George Cherry, and Benjamin Cherry Jr.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Thursday, February 20, 2025, at the Second Baptist Worship Center, 857 Lumber Street, Coatesville, Pennsylvania. A viewing will be held from 9:00 AM until the time of service.
Interment will be at Philadelphia Memorial Park 124 Phoenixville Pike, Frazer, PA 19355
