With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Tonya R. Crutchfield of Coatesville, Pennsylvania, who left this life far too soon on September 6, 2026. Her sudden passing has left an emptiness that words cannot fully express, but her family will forever hold close the love, memories, and gentle spirit she leaves behind.
Tonya was born on December 22, 1966, to Christine Raymond and J.P. Williams, and was blessed with three siblings: Anthony, Jimmy and Sam, who were a part of her family story. During her upbringing, she was lovingly welcomed into the Conway family and was raised by Dorothy and Preston Conway. Through that bond, she gained siblings, cousins, nieces and nephews who became family not simply by circumstance, but through the love, memories and experiences they shared. Those relationships remained a meaningful part of Tonya’s life and held a special place in her heart.
Tonya was a 1985 graduate of Coatesville Area High School. Gifted with a love for music, she sang with the Meister Singers and with various gospel groups throughout the area. She later attended and completed the full cosmetology program at Gordon Phillips Beauty School and was awarded a Diploma of Cosmetology.
Her love for God was reflected not only in her faith, but also in the love, kindness, and compassion she showed to her family and to those around her. Quiet and gentle by nature, Tonya possessed a warmth that could be seen in her smile and heard in the soft words she offered to others. She had a generous heart and a sincere concern for people. Those who knew her will remember her gentle presence, her kindness and the special way she made others feel welcomed and cared for.
Family held a treasured place in Tonya’s heart. She is survived by her husband, Dennis Crutchfield, with whom she shared the blessing of three children: Anye Crutchfield, Dennis Crutchfield Jr., and Tenaya Crutchfield. Being a mother brought Tonya great joy, and that joy grew even deeper when she became the proud and loving grandmother of Kamar Crutchfield and Alaiya Stringfield. Her children and grandchildren were a precious part of her life, and the love and memories they shared will forever remain a part of her legacy.
Tonya is also survived by her sibling, Jeanette Hubbard, nieces and nephew, Toni Craig, Tish Craig and John Craig; and a host of extended family members, church family, and dear friends who will deeply miss her.
She was preceded in death by Arlette Slaughter, George Diggs, Bobby Goodley, Sam and Jimmy Raymond.
Although Tonya’s life ended much sooner than anyone could have imagined, the measure of her life is not found simply in the number of years she was given. It is found in the people she loved, the family she helped build, the faith she carried, the kindness she extended to others and the memories that will continue to live in the hearts of those who loved her.
A Memorial Service celebrating her life will be held at 11 AM on Saturday, September 19, 2026, at Bell Chapel True Holiness Church of God, 132 Modena Road, Coatesville, PA with a visitation beginning at 10 AM.
