Obituary

Theodore D. Jackson "Ted", 97, of Coatesville, passed away, Thursday, October 13, 2011 at home.
Born in Coatesville, he was the son of the late Ellis Jackson and Martha Brown.

Educated in the Coatesville public system, he attended the Historical James Adams School.

He was united in holy matrimony to the late Evelyn Moore.

He had been employed at Lukens Steel for 37 years. After retiring he was elected Supervisor of Valley Township in Coatesville Heights where he served for 12 years.

Ted was a member of the Second Baptist Church in Coatesville where he served as a Deacon for many years. He enjoyed singing and was a member of the Cross Bearers for 24 years.

He is survived by two daughters, Barbara Winfield, Crystal Johnson; one son, Larry Jackson; one sister, Gladys Walls; son-in-law, Reginald Johnson; one niece, Lisa Johnson; 3 grandchildren, Erin and Anaya Johnson, Larry Jackson II; 2 great grandchildren, Sariyah and Samir; a loving companion, Bernice Richardson and a host of friends and neighbors.

Services will be held 11 a.m., Thursday, Oct. 20, at the Second Baptist Worship Center, 856 Merchant Street, Coatesville, with a viewing beginning at 9 a.m.

Interment will be in Philadelphia Memorial Park in Frazer.
