Noah David Alston, "Sugafoot", 77, of Coatesville passed away on January 13, 2021, surrounded by his family at the Brandywine Hospital in Caln township.

Born in Coatesville, he was the son of the late Noah McCray and Delia B.  Alston Dobie. He was the husband of Frances E. Ford-Alston with whom he shared 24 years of marriage.

Noah, was affectionally called Sugarfoot by everyone who knew him.  He attended schools within the Coatesville Area School District.

He was employed as a burner at the former Lukens Steel Company for several years. He was a former member at Hutchinson Memorial UAME Church. He was also a member of the local VFW.

Sugafoot loved to take the kids to work. He was an avid Philly Eagles fan and enjoyed watching them on TV.  He enjoyed working on his crossword puzzles and spending time with family and friends.  Most of all, he was known for being on Lincoln Highway holding up the parking meter. Some of his favorite foods were salmon cakes, fried potatoes, baked beans, and sliced tomatoes with mayonnaise. A favorite saying was, "I clare", which was his version of I declare.

Sugafoot will be deeply missed by his wife, Frances Ford- Alston; daughters: Lavette Ford, Tonette Ford, Felicia Jones-Thomas (Glen), Uwana Ford, Lamonica Bessix, Kellie Gibbs, Carletta Ford; sons: Lawrence Beckett (Tonya), Franklin Archie (Lisa), Richard Milbourne and Junius Ford; sisters, Williamae Dobie and Essie Bruchette; in-laws: Alberta Horriell, and Kenneth Ford, and a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great great-grandchildren; one special granddaughter whom he raised, Tiajah Newton, a special friend Uley Hines; aunt, Alberta Alston and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A Walk-Thru public viewing will be held on Saturday, January 23, 2021, beginning at 8:00 AM until 9:45 AM, at Judah Ministries COGIC, 840 E. Chestnut St., Coatesville, PA 19320. Due to the current Covid-19 Pandemic, a funeral will be held PRIVATELY with seating for the immediate family only.
