Susan Maria Thompson, formerly of Downingtown, 41, passed away May 3, 2016.

Susan Maria Thompson, at 5'9" was an imposing figure on so many levels.  Beyond her stature, she was a powerful individual with a determined spirit and a great sense of humor.

Early on, as a young athlete, her presence was felt on both the track and soccer field.  Her contributions were recognized by her teammates as she excelled in track and field events and as a soccer goalie, the toughest job on the team.

Because of her professionalism and work ethic, the business world favored her, as well.  She earned the respect of her colleagues and repeatedly reached her objectives and set new goals.  Given her work was performed on the phone, she was able to dress comfortably and had a casual appearance on the job.  But the person on the other end of the phone would undoubtedly envision her as a polished professional in a well-tailored business suit sitting at a stately desk.  But that wasn't Susan.  Armed with a head set and her strong voice, she paced incessantly "to create the energy she used to deliver the message", as one of her associates stated.  She was in command of every word, and whah-lah she closed the deals.

Susan set a high standard for her associates, her friends and family.  And all of us can be inspired by Susan Maria Thompson and her capacity to "stand tall" and face her life's journey.

A Memorial Service will be held 11 am Saturday, June 18, at New Life In Christ Fellowship, 1 South Fifth Avenue, Coatesville, PA, 19320, followed by a repast at 12 noon.

Interment will be held privately.
