Obituary

Susan Ferrera passed away on Friday, April 11, 2025, at her residence after a lengthy illness. She was 68 years old.

Born in England, she was the daughter of the late Tony and Margaret Turner.

She was the beloved wife of Thomas Captis, with whom she shared 14 years of marriage.

Sue grew up in Yorkshire in the Barnsley area and attended the University of Leeds, graduating with a degree in History. She lived in Manhattan, New York, for 15 years. Sue worked 45 years in various IT departments, most recently as a Project Manager at Vanguard for 20 years until she retired.

Sue enjoyed shopping and was very much into fashion. She enjoyed supporting local restaurants in the area and giving back by donating to the VA. Sue loved to travel. Throughout her life she traveled to Africa, the Middle East, Caribbean and throughout Europe.

More than anything, Sue loved people. She loved making friends, nurturing those friendships, and making people happy. She would take an interest in people's lives, getting to know them and their life story. Sue loved people, and people loved Sue.

She will be deeply missed by her husband, Thomas Captis, and her brother, Simon Turner.

Condolences may be shared through the guestbook link on this memorial page where all are welcome to light a candle or plant a tree in her memory.
