Sondra Bacon Brown, 76, of Coatesville, departed this life peacefully on March 19, 2026, at home.
Born in Coatesville, she was the daughter of the late Edward Bacon, Sr. and Geraldine Hutcherson Bacon.
Sondra grew up in a large, close-knit family and received her education in the Coatesville Area School District. She was a proud graduate of S. Horace Scott High School, Class of 1967.
As a young woman, Sondra began her professional career at Burroughs Corporation. She later continued her career at Vanguard, where she worked as a faithful employee until her retirement in 2016.
Sondra was known for her deep love of family and her vibrant spirit, always the life of the party. She enjoyed gardening, painting, decorating, dancing, and playing Bingo. Most of all, she treasured spending time with her great-grandchildren, who brought her immense joy.
She also found joy in fishing with her brother Gilbert, creating lasting memories together.
Sondra was a devoted member of Bernardtown Baptist Church, where she became a member in 1997. She served faithfully in many roles including church clerk, computer analyst, financial secretary, trustee, and usher.
Beyond the church, Sondra gave back to her community by teaching computer classes to members of the Coatesville community. She also served as a softball coach for young ladies, helping to build skills, confidence, and lifelong friendships.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister, Barbara Perry; her brother, Edward Lawrence Bacon, Jr.; and her beloved brother, Gilbert Bacon.
She leaves to cherish her memory her one and only daughter, Tonya Lynnette Brown “Biggie” of Coatesville; her sisters, Syvella Dubose of Bridgeton, New Jersey, Linda Wilson of Coatesville, Tina Allen of Coatesville, and Patricia Maybin (Rodney) of Baltimore, Maryland; brothers, Anthony Bacon of Coatesville, and Gerald Bacon (Paulette) of York; grandchildren, Raygiel Anthony Dwayne Perry, Jr. “Yubby Dubby” and Shaylyn Natay Unique Gibbs “Shay Boom”; great-grandchildren: twins Kai and Ryland Perry and twins Mason and Melanin Perry and their mother, Quintessa Jackson; bonus great-granddaughters, Heaven Jackson, Graceful Dennis and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
Sondra will be greatly missed. Though her presence is no longer with us, her love, warmth, and legacy will live on in the hearts of all who knew her. Her memory will forever be cherished.
