Early Tuesday morning, March 29, 2022, Sommai Duedunge Barkman, of Parkesburg, PA, surrounded by her family, passed away peacefully at her home.  She was 82 years old.

Sommai was born in Bangkok, Thailand. She was the beloved wife of Joseph W. Barkman with whom she shared over 50 years of marriage. She was the mother of Nina Nolan (wife of John Nolan).

A ceremonial Ghusl (washing and shrouding of the body) was performed on March 29, 2022, at Wright Funeral Services, 725 Merchant St., Coatesville, PA.  The Muslim funeral prayer was observed at 6:15 PM.  Sommai will be laid to rest on Thursday, March 31, 2022, at the Frame Church Cemetery in Clearville, Bedford County, PA.
