"Innā lillāhi wa innā ilayhi rāji'ūn" "Verily, to Allah we belong and to Him we return."
Skyy Denim Zayas-Toney was created on January 5, 2003, and returned to Allah on May 31, 2026, at age 23.
Skyy was a young man of strong character, morals, respect, kindness, compassion, and loyalty. He was thoughtful and observant, often choosing to listen more than he spoke and to give more than he took. His quiet presence, genuine heart, and unwavering love for those around him left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him.
Skyy had a deep passion for music and found joy in expressing himself through it. He was a man of few words unless he had a mic in his hand, where his true voice emerged through his love of music. He enjoyed writing lyrics, playing video games, watching anime, Rick and Morty, and Spiderman. He was known for taking pictures with his head down and his hair covering his face, a signature look that reflected his humble, laid-back spirit and unique personality.
He loved spending time with his family and friends and cherished every opportunity to do what he loved most. He was a young man who longed for peace in his life, and that desire shaped much of who he was.
Above all else, Skyy loved his family and friends. He went above and beyond to show that love through his actions, loyalty, and support. His memory will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know him.
Skyy leaves to cherish his memory his loving mother, LaShonda Taneen James; his father, Jessie James Jackson; and his stepfather, Falandez James, the father who raised him and shaped his character and values. He also leaves his siblings, Giovanni Aigner Suber and Lynden Joanni Hernandez, Joya Jackson, Jay Labik, Ivey Smith, Jayquan Rhodes, Jessie Jackson III, and Jerrell Jackson.
He is lovingly remembered by his grandparents, Philip Towles and his wife, Kim, Herman McKinney and Lorraine Thompson; special great-aunt, Phyllis Diane Bailey; his uncle, Victor Toney and his wife, Celia; his aunts, Silver Toney, Andrea Mitchell and Nira Towles, along with many other relatives, friends, and loved ones whose lives he touched.
Skyy was preceded in death by his grandmother, Joanne Toney; and grandparents, Rose Chavis and Jessie James Jackson Sr.
Though his time on earth was far too short, the love, kindness, and memories he shared will remain forever. He will truly be missed and forever loved.
